Morgen wordt deze Airstream Model 34 Limited uit 1992 geveild.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Deze caravan is niet alleen bijzonder vanwege het uiterlijk en het forse formaat, maar ook omdat hij van de Amerikaanse acteur Tom Hanks is geweest.<!--more--><\/p>\n<h2>Onderdak bij filmproducties<\/h2>\n<p>Tom Hanks kocht deze caravan in 1993 en liet hem naar zijn persoonlijke wensen aanpassen. De caravan diende als zijn alternatieve huis tijdens filmproducties in heel Amerika. In verband daarmee stond de caravan vele malen in de omgeving van Los Angeles en reisde de Airstream van Tom Hanks naar Seattle voor de opnames van &#8220;Sleepless in Seattle&#8221; en naar South Carolina voor &#8220;Forrest Gump&#8221;. Ook was hij ermee in Philadelphia en New York City.<\/p>\n<p>Op de ramen staan replica&#8217;s van de &#8216;clapperboards&#8217; die de achttien locaties aanduiden waar de caravan werd gebruikt, van Sleepless in Seattle in 1993 tot The Circle in 2017.<\/p>\n<p>Hanks wilde een redelijk minimalistisch indeling. Er is in de bijna 11 meter lange caravan alleen een keuken, badkamer, futon bed, een tafel en stoelen alsmede een bureau en kast achterin. Ook zijn er nog verschillende toebehoren aan boord, waaronder borden, glazen en verschillende espressomachines. De prijs zal tussen de \u20ac 130,000 &#8211; 210,000, vermeerderd met de veilingkosten. Wie deze exclusieve caravan naar Nederland zal willen halen, zal naast de transportkosten ook rekening moeten houden met de invoerrechten en BTW. Bovendien is er voor dit model geen typekeuring afgegeven. Je mag er dus niet mee de weg op. Dat is gezien het formaat ook niet aan te raden.
