Deze Escape is namelijk perfect om het dagelijkse leven te ontvluchten en onbekende landen en streken te verkennen.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Als basis voor de Escape gebruikt Earthcruiser de bekende G-Klasse van Mercedes-Benz. In de Pro-versie heeft deze een MTM van 4,5 ton wat uiteraard wel consequenties voor het benodigde rijbewijs heeft.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>De Earthcruiser Escape heeft een wielbasis van 3,43 meter en wordt aangedreven door een zescilinder turbodiesel van 184 pk en een maximaal koppel van 400 Newtonmeter. Deze is gekoppeld aan een vijftraps automatische versnellingsbak. Uiteraard is de G-Klasse voorzien van sperdifferentieels op de voor-, achter- en tussenas. Ook zorgt Earthcruiser voor sterkere schokdempers, een compressor en een grotere tank zodat je in de outback altijd voldoende brandstof hebt. Aan de voor- en achterzijde zijn ook lieren met een trekkracht van ieder 6,1 ton geplaatst voor het geval dat ook de vierwielaandrijving niet voldoende is om bepaalde obstakels te overwinnen. Ideaal dus, voor transport overzee. Die compacte bouwwijze wordt mede mogelijk gemaakt door het hefdak. Dit kan rechtstandig omhoog en zorgt zo voor de benodigde stahoogte. In het interieur, dat plaats biedt aan twee personen, vinden we een compleet uitgerust keukenblok en een combinatie van zitgroep en bed. Overdag is dat een eenpersoonsbed en kleine standaardzit. Door het zitje ook tot een slaapplaats om te bouwen ontstaat er een ruim tweepersoonsbed. De Escape heeft ook een compacte was\/toiletruimte. Deze kan aan de buitenzijde eventueel worden uitgebreid met een douchetent. Uiteraard is de Earthcruiser Escape ook voorzien van een luifel als bescherming tegen zon en regen. Om gedurende lange tijd onafhankelijk van voorzieningen te zijn, is de Escape niet alleen uitgerust met een flinke brandstoftank maar kun je ook 250 liter drinkwater meenemen. Inclusief een navigatiesysteem, 360\u00b0 camera\u2019s en een hotspot kost de Earthcruiser Escape ongeveer 221.000 euro. Daar komt in Nederland nog de BPM en BTW bij. Een derde van het genoemde bedrag is benodigd voor het basisvoertuig.
